苗族古歌是苗族先民在长期的生产生活实践中创造出来的、流传于苗族聚居区的一种具有史诗性的神话传说,是记载苗族古代社会生活的百科全书。以贵州省苗族聚居区整理出来的苗族古歌为例,梳理出了苗族古歌对于研究苗族的族源、社会学、民族学、哲学、自然科学等五个方面的史料价值。

Miao ancient songs is the ancestors of the Miao people in the long-term production and life practice created,spread in the Miao neighborhoods of an epic myths and legends,is recorded Miao ancient social life encyclopedia.This paper combs the historical values of the Miao ancient songs for the study of the ethnic origin,sociology,ethnology,natural science and philosophy of the Miao nationality.
