海南渔民《更路簿》是其在南海耕耘时给自己看的,用于记载航线、里程、岛礁名称、潮涨潮落、海流的流速与变化、气象等的小册子,是渔民世代航海经验的总结。它是用海南的方言来书写的,所以有"南海天书"之称。海南渔民《更路簿》是渔民发现南海诸岛屿及其附近海域,对其命名、开发与经营的航海指南和铁证,是维护南海主权,研究南海航海史、交通史、海洋文化和海上丝绸之路的重要档案材料。

Geng Lu Bu is a booklet for the fishermen when they were working on the South Sea,which records the sailing routes,mileage,names of islands,the tide rises and falls,the flow rates and changes of the sea current,the weather and so on,and is a summary of their sailing experiences from generation to generation.It was written in Hainan dialect so won the name of bible of South China Sea.It is the sailing direction for Hainan fishermen and hard evidence of their having found,named,developed and operated the South Sea Islands,and is important archival material of safeguarding the sovereignty of the South China Sea and studying the marine navigation history and the transportation history of the South China Sea,and studying marine culture as well as the Maritime Silk Road.
