摘要
张爱玲的长篇小说《半生缘》因金凯筠的翻译走向世界,并受到海外读者的一致好评。将译者的文化身份、审美观以及读者观置于《半生缘》的英译过程中,探索其在理解和表达阶段的"显身性",发现译者的适当"显身性"保证了《半生缘》英译本的成功,也重新定义了译者、读者和作者的关系,为中国文学走向世界提供了新的参考范式。
Eileen Chang rose to fame because her Half a Lifelong Romance translated by Karen S.Kinsbury was widely accepted by overseas readers.The paper probes into the translator’s visibility in the stage of comprehension and representation,aiming to find how she translated it by choosing the text with her literary quality,and by foreignizing it with her cultural identity,aesthetics and readers’concept.The appropriate“visibility”of the translator ensures the success of Half a Lifelong Romance,and has redefined the relationship among the translator,reader and writer,which provides a new model for the“going abroad of Chinese literature”.
