Pulp & paper industry in Fujian:new projects,environmental protection,and market focuses

2017年福建省造纸企业项目主要是提升企业的产销物流运行水平和加强生态保护及污染物防治水平的项目,增加产能的项目很少。主要原因是:按福建省规划,生态环境容量只能减少这些,福建省有很多地区属于不能增加污染物排放强度的地区或不发展造纸产业的地区,并且所有新增的污染物排放量都要用钱来买排放指标。一些运行较好、经济效益较好的造纸企业也在把投资转向新兴实体产业,甚至金融产业等,今后福建省造纸产业主要是注重发展质量的提升,在造纸产品产量方面不会有很大发展。

Looking back on 2017, pulp and paper companies in Fujian province have been mainly devoted to improving logistics and transportation status of their major products, and strengthening environmental protection and pollutant prevention, while less focus has been put on production increase, in that the ecological capacity has been close to an ultimate limit for Fujian province, where some areas are not allowed to increase pollutant emission anymore or develop pulp and paper industry. And even any newly added waste emission is required to be paid for many areas in Fujian. So some well developed paper manufacturers are now tending to emerging entity industries and even financial segment for further development. It's predicted that for the paper industry in Fujian, more emphasis will be put on the quality improving rather than output increase of paper and related products in the future.
