The Development and Educational Ideas of American Ethnic Colleges and Universities

美国作为世界超级大国,其经济、教育、科技等多方面都居于世界一流地位。虽然国情的不同使中美民族高等院校存在很多差异,但中美都属于多民族国家,因此,从某种意义上仍然具备相互学习和借鉴的意义。在总结美国民族高等院校办学类型的基础上,进行现状分析,概括美国民族高等院校的教育理念,包括多元文化教育理念、民主化和法制化理念、坚持创新和为社会服务理念,并从立法、课程设置和师资培养层面探讨了对我国民族高校建设与发展的启示。

America as the sole superpower,its economy,education,science and technology and many other aspects are world-class status.Although different national conditions led to the big differences on ethnic colleges and universities between China and America,they’re both multi-ethnic countries.Therefore,it’s worth mutual learning.On the basis of summing up the types of running schools of American ethnic colleges and universities,this paper analyzes the current situation and summarizes the educational ideas of American ethnic colleges and universities,including the idea of multicultural education,democratization and legalization,insisting on innovation and social service.Besides,this paper also discusses the enlightenment to the construction and development of our ethnic colleges and universities from the aspects of legislation,curriculum and teacher training.
