Ancient Literati and Taohe Green Inkstone

洮河绿石砚是我国"四大名砚"之一。但由于产地偏僻,交通不便,在古代流入上层文人之手者甚少。由此,古代文人论及洮砚的文字只言片语,远不及其它名砚。即便如此,这些洁光片羽也反映了古代文人对洮砚的定位、对洮砚产地的述说、对洮砚"石品"的赞美,以及洮砚收藏、馈赠、题写洮砚铭等情况,为我们构建洮砚的古代历史提供了非常珍贵的资料。

Taohe green inkstone is one of the“four famous inkstones”,however,due to its remote origin and inconvenient transportation,those green stones were very few be possessed by literati in ancient times.Thus,compared with other famous inkstones,Tao Inkstone was not often mentioned in the written literatures by ancient literati.Even so,those few words reflected ancient literati’s narration about Tao Inkstone’s position and its origin,their appreciation on its quality and their records on Tao Inkstone’s collecting,gift-giving and inscribing,which provides valuable materials to construct ancient history about Tao Inkstone.
