Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of acupotomy in the treatment of diseases of long head of biceps tendon.Methods:183 patients with diseases of long head of biceps tendon were randomly divided into the control group(n=92)and the treatment group(n=91).The control group was given painkilling injection, whereas the treatment group was given acupotomy therapy. The same rehabilitation exercise were applied to both groups after the treatment.Clinical efficacy and improvements of shoulder pain, shoulder activity, and shoulder myodynamia were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate was 87.91%and 79.34%in the treatment group and in the control group respectively.Shoulder pain, shoulder activity, and shoulder myodynamia were improved in the two groups after the treatment compared to those before the treatment(P<0.05);of which the treatment group improved more significantly than the control group(P<0.05).There were no adverse events after the treatment in both groups. Conclusion:The therapy of acupotomy is effective and safe for diseases of long head of biceps tendon,it can quickly relieve the shoulder pain and recover the motor function of shoulder joint.
