Xu Zongze, a Brave Man in the Anti-Japanese War

"九一八事变"爆发后,徐宗泽开始在其主编的《圣教杂志》上每天跟踪报道战争进程,使国内外读者及时了解抗战实情。为唤起读者的爱国心,他相继发表了多篇文章,对战争进行深度分析,指出中国所从事的是反侵略的正义战争,战争是中华民族革新的契机,教友更应该爱国,呼吁教友积极参加爱国救亡活动,发挥了抗战政治动员的号角作用。在他的影响下,大批天主教届人士积极投入到抗日战争的洪流中,为抗战胜利作出了贡献。

After“The September 18th Incident”broke out,the Catholic Miscellany,which edited by Xu Zongze,began to report and keep track of the war process every day,so that the readers of domestic and foreign could understand the truth of the war.To arouse patriotism of the Catholic,he published some articles in succession to analysis of the War in depth,pointing out that the War which China was engaged was the just war fighting against aggression.The War was an opportunity for Chinese nation to innovate.The Catholics should be patriotic,and they should take part in patriotic salvation activities.Catholic Miscellany played a trumpet role in the political mobilization of anti-Japanese war.Under his influenced,the Catholic people actively devoted themselves to the tide of the anti-Japanese War and contribute to the victory of it.
