Flange joints are most popular removable connection in process industry devices.The deep understanding and reasonable selection of gasket seal have profound significance on good sealing performance and long service life for flange joints.The sealing mechanism of gasket inflange connection structure was introduced.The failure modes of interface leaking and permeating leaking were analyzed.The classification,properties and applications of gasket materials were discussed,and then the selection criteria of gasket seal were proposed.
