Although there are still some controversies about the origin of football in the world,nowadays,Chinese and foreign academics have basically recognized that modern football has been born and developed in England.The transformation of British public educational thought and the re-understanding of the importance of sports in 19th century had made the modern football a good opportunity for development.The England Football Association founded in 1863 had provided a good institutional and organizational guarantee for the development of modern football in the UK.Thus,football had come to a historical period of rapid development in Britain.Although the two world wars had brought so many difficulties to the development of English football,its golden period of development started right after The World War II,which was due to the unique features of the entertainment and the social needs to soothe the trauma of the war.Since then,the important position of football has been established in modern British sports and life.
