摘要
相比于其他莎剧改写者,查尔斯·马洛维奇虽在创作视角上受导演思维的影响,但其著名的"马洛维奇的莎士比亚式"作品则是一种"马洛维奇+莎士比亚=莎士比"模式下的后现代改写创作。虽然他在改写时以莎剧为源文本、创作元素及意义参照点,但他所追求的却是对原莎剧的延伸和超越。就其改写过程而言,他所实践的是一个"弑父"式的再写之旅,而非导演改编者所追求的对莎剧的再发现之旅。
Compared with other rewriters of Shakespearean works,though Charles Marowitz is influenced by the perspective as a director,his famous Marowitz-Shakespeare adaptive works are postmodern adaptive writings in the mode of“Marowitz+Shakespeare=Shakespea”..Although taking Shakespearean plays as source-texts,creative materials and semantic reference,it is the transcendence and extension of the Shakespeare canon that he pursued.As far as his rewriting process is concerned,the journey he has set upon is not to rediscover Shakespeare as director adapters do but to rewrite in a“patricide”way.
