摘要
谚语是民族思想的精华,它既是语言现象,也是文化现象。通过分析中英谚语的异同点,体现出二者在起源、结构、功能方面既有相通之处,又因地理因素、宗教信仰以及价值观等方面的不同有所区别。对此进行对比研究,不仅有助于学习中西方语言和文化,更有利于跨文化交际的顺利进行。
Proverb is an excellent part of all languages.It is a language phenomenon and a cultural phenomenon as well.Through a comparative study on the similarities and differences of Chinese and English proverbs,it shows that they have similar sources,structures and functions while there are some subtle differences because of geographical conditions,religious beliefs and other cultural factors.The purpose of this comparative study is to better understand the two languages and their cultures so as to ensure the smooth process of cross-cultural communication.
