Application of Pragmatic Principle of Linear Order Iconicity in Business English from Cognitive Linguistic Perspective

象似性研究是当代国内外认知语言学界的热点课题,而顺序象似性指句法成分的排列顺序与其所对应表达的现实或事件发生的顺序相呼应。本文以新编剑桥商务英语的三本教材为研究对象,总结并分析线性顺序语用原则现象如松散句、倒装句的文体特征及象似性理据,研究对产生特定文体效果起着重要作用,同时有助于读者提高其学习并解释语言的能力。

Iconicity is a hot topic in cognitive linguistic research.And the principle of Order iconicity means the order of clauses in a coherent discourse tend to correspond to the temporal order of the occurrence of the depicted events.Taking three textbook of Cambridge Business English as research object,the study summarizes and analyzes the iconic function and stylistic features of Pragmatic principle of linear order such as loose sentence and inverted sentence.The principle plays important role in creating certain stylistic effect and can help reader to improve their ability in learning and explaining language.
