摘要
本文借鉴词汇知识量表,对扬州生活科技学校2015、2016届护理专业学生进行了词汇知识量测试。结果表明,学生平均词汇知识量分别为811.43个和845.45个,离初中英语大纲要求的1600个相差甚远;受试不同年级学生词汇知识量没有显著性差异;单词习得顺序受到单词结构、输入不足、词频率和音形混淆等因素的影响。生均词汇量水平均与其综合语言水平呈显著相关。
Based on the vocabulary knowledge scale,vocabulary tests were conducted on nursing students in Yangzhou life school of science and technology.The survey showed that the vocabulary size of each grade was 811.43 and 845.45 words respectively,far less than the 1,600 words required by the syllabus.There was no significant difference in the vocabulary size between the two grades.The length of word itself,and insufficient input and word frequency play an important role in the acquisition order of students’vocabulary.Besides,pronunciation and word-formation knowledge can also help students keep a long memory of words.The level of vocabulary size of the students are significantly related to that of English proficiency.Based on the findings of the study,the paper further explores the implication and puts forward some suggestions on English vocabulary teaching and learning in Chinese vocational schools.
