港台新儒家的《中庸》考释之辩——以钱穆、徐复观、唐君毅的相关争论为例

A Textual Research on the New Confucian Debate of The Doctrine of the Mean in Hong Kong and Taiwan:Take the Debate between Qian Mu,Xu Fukuan and Tang Junyi as an Example

20世纪五六十年代,钱穆、徐复观、唐君毅三人曾就《中庸》考释等相关问题有过激烈争论。钱穆、唐君毅都主张《中庸》晚出孟、荀之说,徐复观则坚持其成书早于孟、荀。徐复观、唐君毅二人都主张对《中庸》诠释以心学路向为宗,但徐复观又消解形而上学,突出心学践行特质,与唐君毅的思辨形上路径有所区隔。徐复观、唐君毅亦反对钱穆以道家思想汇通《中庸》的思路,并对其考证方法提出批评。争论虽未形成共识,却显现出港台新儒家群体内部在经典诠释上所同不胜其异的一面。

In the 1950s&1960s,Qian Mu,Xu Fukuan and Tang Junyi had debate on the textual research on the debate of The Doctrine of the Mean,in which Qian Mu and Tang Junyi advocates that“the doctrine of the mean”was later than Mencius and Xun Zi,while Xu Fukuan held the opposite opinion.Though both Xu Fukuan and Tang Junyi insisted that the focus must be on explanation,opposite to Tang’s Xu dialectic metaphysics was Xu’s rejection of metaphysics.Xu and Tang were against Qian’s explanation based on Taoism.Though no consensus,the debate shows the condition of multivariation in classical interpretation in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
