在英国高校自20世纪80年代开始的由“研究型大学”向“创业型大学”的转变中,赫特福德大学多次获得年度“创业型大学”提名奖。这所起家于“二战”时期知名航空公司的英国新生代院校,将强项工程类专业和艺术学院实现了完美融合。重视创新创业教育,注重实践,追求学以致用,正是赫大的优势所在。乘着英国高校改革的东风“创业型大学”成为赫大名片“创业型大学”的存在,是英国高等教育的特色之处,赫特福德大学正是“创业型大学”当之无愧的代表。“2014年我加入赫大,成为国际学生招生官。在这之前,我的工作也是跟大学的国际招生有关。这么多年与国际招生打交道,给我最深的体会就是评价一所大学应该考虑学生的满意度、就业率和就业前景等硬性指标,而非大学的排名,因为留学不是为了颜面,而是一份有发展前景的工作。”赫特福德大学国际部主任Stuart Smith接受《留学》专访时这样说。

Since the 1980 s universities in the UK have transformed from researchoriented universities to entrepreneurial uni versities. We know that the entrepreneurial universities have become the feature of UK higher education. University of Hertfordshire has won the Entrepreneurial University of the Year nominees many times.
