Taking fire fighting and rescue of a large-span building as an example,introduced the characteristics of fire and rescue pro-cess.The typical fire fighting tactics in the process of fire fighting was analyzed including segmentation,forcible breaking tactics,joint water supply,collapse prevention,battle service and com-bined service,application of technical equipment.Combined with fire fighting practice,the key points in fire fighting of large-span building were proposed including sufficient water supply and sup-port is the basis of successful fire fighting;scientific decision-mak-ing and correct tactics is the key to the success of fighting;and ap-plying superior power is the prerequisite for successful fighting.
