Gu Xiang was a famous literary critic and theorist.He was the author of the text that initiated the debate on“humanism and alienation”in 1983.He left a lot of recollections on the debate after the“Alienation”turmoil ebbed.From his recollections,we can not only understand the difference between Hu Qiaomu and Zhou Yang in their pursuit of value,political personality,etc.,but also his thinking of humanism,his commitment to truth and his worry of the national state.
