伦理学视角下的伍光建翻译初探

A Probe into Wu Guangjian's Translation from the Perspective of Ethics

清末民初翻译家伍光建与严复、林纾齐名,但因其埋首翻译而著述极少,学界对其相关研究非常薄弱。以翻译伦理学为新的切入点,从翻译伦理诸要素出发,可比较全面探究伍光建的翻译实践。首先从社会伦理视角,社会伦理的发展和时代精神的变革决定了伍光建的翻译动机和对文本的选择;从译者伦理视角,伍光建自身的道义及修养影响了其对译本的选择和翻译风格的形成;从读者伦理视角,读者的阅读体验决定了其翻译策略的选择;最后从中间人伦理视角,商务印书馆的伦理考量影响了其译作的产生和传播。

As a translator at the late of Qing Dynasty and the early of Republic of China,Wu Guangjian enjoyed the equal popularity with Yanfu and Linshu,but for a long time the researches carried out on Wu have been extremely poor,because he put his heart and soul into translation practice and failed to write any theoretical works on translation.Approaching from the new perspective of translation ethics,i.e.from the ethical elements such as society,translators,readers and intermediaries,we can penetrate into Wu’s translation practice more deeply and systematically.First,from the perspective of social ethics,the ethical development and the revolutionary spirit of the era determines his motivations in translation and his choices of works to translate.Then,from the perspective of translators’ethics,we find out that Wu’s own morality and literary accomplishment have greatly influenced his choices of translation versions and the formation of the style of his translation.Besides,from the perspective of readers’ethics,readers’experiences in reading determine the practical translation strategies he uses.Finally,from the perspective of intermediary ethics,the ethical evaluation of Business Press has great impact in the generation and dissemination of his translation versions.
