Research on Ancient Chinese Bracelets Culture

本文从三个方面对中国古代臂饰文化进行考证和归纳。其一是名考,考证了古代臂饰的十余个名字,其中尤以"环"、"钏"和"镯"最为常见。其二是总结了臂饰的五大分类,分别为单环式、螺旋式、五色缕、串珠类和大臂饰,并分别对每一门类的典型形制和其在各朝代的流行趋势进行了归纳总结。其三是分析了臂饰的五大功能,分别是:装饰及彰显身份、压袖、作为婚嫁的聘礼、作为财富及馈赠的礼品和驱邪消灾,并对其背后的文化意涵进行阐释。

Bracelet had not gotten specially attention in ancient China's official jewelry.However, it was very popular in the folk.This articlehas made a comprehensive research on andtextual criticismof the ancient Chinese bracelet culture from three aspects.The first is the name criticism, which verifies more than ten names of the ancient bracelets, especially the "Huan", "Chuan" and "Zhuo" were the most common.The second is a summary of the five major styles of bracelets, they were single-ring style, spiral style, five-color strands, arm beads style and the upper arm ornaments.And the typical form of each style and their popular trend in each dynasty were summarized.The third is to analyze the five functions of the bracelet, they were: decoration and display identity, pressure sleeve, as the betrothal presents, as a gift or wealth, and been used to exorcise.It also explains the bracelet culture.
