Objective To study the effect of acupuncture at Daling(P7)on the hemorrheology of soft tissue injury in the ankle of rats, and to explore the mechanism of activating blood to dissipate blood stasis and relieve pain. Methods The rats were randomly divided into the blank control group, the control group and the treatment group, with 31 rats in each group. They were treated without treatment, routine acupuncture and balanced acupuncture one time a day for 21 days. The whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity and erythrocyte aggregation index were measured after the experiment. Results Comparing with naked eye and appearance scores in each group after treatment, the balance acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group and control group had significant differences(P<0.01),and conventional acupuncture group and blank control group had no significant difference(P>0.05).After treatment, blood rheology and its balance and the whole blood viscosity significantly decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01),plasma viscosity and fibrinogen were significantly reduced(P<0.01),hematocrit,erythrocyte aggregation index increased significantly(P<0.01).Conclusion The acupuncture at Daling(P7)can reduce the subcutaneous ecchymosis and the swelling of blood, and the experimental examination showed the improvement of blood rheology.
