“内外有别”之关联论本体解析——以应用文英译为例

Relevance Theory as Ontologically Applied to Illustrate “Differentiated Strategy for Domestic and Foreign Recipients”: Taking the Translation of Practical Texts as the Case

基于语言交际的关联理论用于指导应用文英译这种语际之间的交际活动具有很强的适用性。前者要求交际双方以明示的方式传达交际意图,保证命题与当前语境具有最佳关联性,并为非论证性推理补足前提命题,从而实现成功交际。因此,从关联论本体层面看,应用文英译应转变原文明示的方式,以适应外语受众的认知环境,以遵循交际意图为先,提供最佳关联和补足语境这三项基本原则,才能避免语用失误导致的交际失败,满足"内外有别"的涉外翻译要求。

Relevance theory,which explains verbal communication,can be applied to international-communication-oriented translation.It requires speakers aiming at successful communication,to transmit ostensive communicative intentions,make sure that there is optimal relevance between the hypothesis and the context,and make complete the implicated premise of the hypothesis.Translators,thus,should change the means original texts manifest their intentions to adapt to the cognitive environment of foreign receptors by conveying the communicative intentions of the source text,making the target text most relevant to the cognitive environment of foreigners and adding contextual information where necessary.These will ensure that translators cause no pragmatic failure and fulfil the requirement of differentiated strategy for domestic and foreign recipients.
