Objective:To investigate the success rate of femoral artery incision and femoral artery puncture with balloon catheter.Method:The 20 healthy male New Zealand rabbits were selected, randomly divided into femoral artery incision group and femoral artery puncture group,10 cases in each group. The femoral artery incision group was performed open femoral artery exploration, and then the balloon injury model was established under direct vision. The femoral artery puncture group was implanted into the balloon by femoral artery puncture to make the abdominal aortic balloon injury model. The success rate, mortality, modeling time, postoperative feeding and intimal hyperplasia between two groups were compared.Result:The modeling time in femoral artery incision group was longer than that of femoral artery puncture group(P<0.05).The eating time, success rate, mortality rate, neointimal thickness, mean vessel stenosis and smooth muscle cell layer thickness in two groups were compared, the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05),and the success rate of femoral artery incision group was 100%,femoral artery puncture group was 90.0%.Conclusion:The two methods in this study have the advantages of stability, reliability, simple method, easy replication, and short duration of time, can simulate the relevant problems in the clinic and are ideal animal models for restenosis after PCI.
