摘要
守灵夜是爱尔兰传统丧葬文化的重要组成部分,众多亲友都要前来祭奠死者,但在《都柏林人》的首篇《姐妹们》中,鲜有亲友参加弗林神父的守灵夜。本文以神父的守灵夜为出发点,描述亲友对他的疏远,分析他们对怪异的讲述,揭示这种讲述的扩散性和警示性。
The wake is an important part of traditional Irish customs in mourning and burial.Many relatives and friends will come to the house of the dead and mourn him,but few attend the wake of the priest in“The Sisters”in Dubliners.This paper focuses on the priest’s strange wake,describes the relatives and friends’estrangement from the priest,analyzes their repeated narration of his queer behavior,reveals the spreading process and warning function of such narration.
