汉语诗歌交韵、抱韵考论——兼及新诗“废韵”的荒谬性

A Study of Embraced Rhyme and Associated Rhyme of Chinese Poetry: On the Absurdity of “Relinquishing Rhyme” of the New Poetry

语言的个性差异使不同民族诗歌呈现各异风采。汉语的普遍性重音、音节响度大等,提供了比英语强大得多的韵资源,新诗废韵论者的荒谬性在于对母语特性的"无视"。中国古老的《诗经》很可能是英语诗常用韵式"交韵"和"抱韵"的源头。《诗经》对诗韵活跃而多样的探索,也许激活了商、周歌者的艺术天赋,《诗三百》成为中国诗歌的经典。尽管"交韵"和"抱韵"这两种英语诗较常用的韵式不一定很适用于汉语诗歌,在汉语语境里不一定具有表现力优势,历代诗歌以及新诗利用这两种韵式也不多,但这些探索和对诗韵相当积极的态度,还是具有极高的价值,它可能激活一个时代的诗性智慧,推动诗歌质量提升和繁荣。

Individual differences in language make different ethnic poems show different styles.Among other things,the universal stress and syllable loudness of the Chinese language provide many more powerful rhyme resources than English.Besides,the absurdity of relinquishing rhyme of new rhyme theorists lies in“disregard”of characteristics of the mother tongue.The Chinese ancient Book of Songs is probably the source of“embraced rhyme”and“associated rhyme”of common rhyme styles in English poetry.The active and varied exploration of the rhyme in The Book of Songs may activate the artistic talent of rhymists in the Shang and Zhou dynasties.The Book of Odes has become a classic of Chinese poetry.Although the two common kinds of rhyme in English poetry,“embraced rhyme”and“associated rhyme”,are not always applicable to Chinese poetry and lack the advantages of expressive force in Chinese context,there are not too many differences between the two kinds of rhyme used in poetry of the past dynasties and the new poetry.Therefore,these explorations and positive attitudes towards poetry rhyme are of great value,which may activate the poetic wisdom of an era and promote the quality and prosperity of poetry.
