中国学生英语学术写作中词块使用的历时变化探析 被引量:1

摘要 词块是流利语言输出的一个重要组成部分,可以帮助学习者在学术写作中达到本族语者的流利程度以及在特定话语社团中建立成员身份。借助语料库软件,以中国学生应用语言学硕士学位论文中的四词词块为研究对象,依据前人有关词块的结构及功能分类,探讨了中国学生词块使用的总体情况和历时变化。研究表明:中国学生总体上越来越注重词块的使用,但依然过度依赖某些词块甚至误用个别词块;从词块结构分类来看,学术写作中的词块更偏短语化。中国学生对"先行词it+动词短语/形容词短语片段"结构的词块使用不足,但有一个良好的历时变化,即避免了过多使用"具有学科特色的词块";从词块功能分类来看,中国学生均大量使用"研究主导的词块",相应造成对"文本主导的词块"和"参与者主导的词块"使用的匮乏。 Lexical bundles as an important part of fluent linguistic output can help learners achieve native-like fluency in academic writing and demonstrate membership in a specific discourse community.By using corpus software and referring to structural and functional classifications proposed by previous researchers,this paper explores the overall situation and diachronic changes of the 4-word lexical bundles in the Master s theses by Chinese students in the discipline of applied linguistics.Research has shown that:Chinese students generally attach more importance to the use of lexical bundles,but still rely excessively on certain lexical bundles and even misuse one or two.Analyses from the perspective of structural classifications reveal that lexical bundles in academic writing are more phrasal in nature.Moreover,structural analyses on lexical bundles used by Chinese students observe the underuse of anticipatory it structures as well as a good diachronic change,i.e.,to avoid the excessive use of expressions with disciplinary characteristics.Analyses from the perspective of functional classifications show that Chinese students largely use research-oriented bundles,resulting in the lack of text-oriented and participant-oriented bundles accordingly.
