Monica Ali's debut novel Brick Lane describes the traumatic experiences of Bangladesh girl Nazneen at different growth stages. The psychological trauma arising under the patriarchal family in Nazneen's childhood rendered her lose the cognition of female subjectivity, and her traumatic memory is mechanically reproduced in the unfortunate marriage after moving to London.Meanwhile, her trauma was intensified by the context of racial discrimination and segregation. With an interpretation of trauma theory,it is helpful to explore the self-reconstruction history of the character from suffering family trauma, gender trauma and ethnic trauma to curing her trauma, and recovering her right to handle one's affairs and empowerment, and also to deeply excavate the artistic effect of this novel.
