摘要
莫妮卡·阿里的处女作《砖巷》描写了孟加拉女孩纳兹奈恩在成长的不同阶段的创伤遭遇。童年父权制家庭下形成的心理创伤,使纳兹奈恩失去女性主体性认知,其创伤记忆在婚后尤其是在移居伦敦后不幸的婚姻中机械般地再现。在种族歧视与隔离的社会大背景下,纳兹奈恩的创伤不断加剧。通过对创伤理论的解读,进一步探索人物从遭受家庭创伤、性别创伤和种族创伤到创伤治愈、恢复自主权和重获新生的自我重构过程,深度发掘小说的艺术效果。
Monica Ali's debut novel Brick Lane describes the traumatic experiences of Bangladesh girl Nazneen at different growth stages.The psychological trauma arising under the patriarchal family in Nazneen's childhood rendered her lose the cognition of female subjectivity,and her traumatic memory is mechanically reproduced in the unfortunate marriage after moving to London.Meanwhile,her trauma was intensified by the context of racial discrimination and segregation.With an interpretation of trauma theory,it is helpful to explore the self-reconstruction history of the character from suffering family trauma,gender trauma and ethnic trauma to curing her trauma,and recovering her right to handle one's affairs and empowerment,and also to deeply excavate the artistic effect of this novel.
