The Influence of Family Background and Social Class Identification on Higher Education: Empirical Analysis Based on CGSS2015

基于中国社会综合调查数据(CGSS2015),分析家庭背景、社会阶层认同与高等教育获得之间关系的研究发现:家庭背景对社会阶层认同和高等教育的获得具有显著的正向影响,其中父辈教育程度对子代高等教育获得的影响存在代际传递现象;近十年来教育获得已经成为中上阶层维护自身地位再生产的一个重要机制,同时也是促进中下阶层向中上阶层流动的主要途径。

Based on the comprehensive survey data of China(CGSS2015),the relationship between family background,social class identification and higher education acquisition was analyzed.The study finds that the family background has a significant positive impact on social stratum identity and higher education,in which the influence of parental education on the generation of higher education of the offspring exists in the intergenerational transmission.In the last ten years,education has become an important mechanism for the middle and upper class to maintain its own status and reproduction.It is the main way to promote the flow of the middle-lower class to the upper-middle class.
