The Chinese government issued an implementation plan concerning the Expansion of Ethanol Biofuel Production and Promotion for Transportation Fuel.The use of straw,bagasse and sawdust as raw materials and cellulase technology to produce fuel ethanol can avoid the problem of“food for fuel”,and achieve a win-win situation of“protecting the environment and improving the quality of economic growth”.Several key points in cellulase production technology are briefly described and the commercial production status of cellulase and the main producers are introduced.
