Yan Zhitui,in his lifetime,has suffered from the loss of his home and homeland in frequent regime changes.In his misfortune of being subjected to people of a conquered nation,he had infinite faith in Confucianism,and sought for the individuals and family a way to survive in troubled times.Yan Zhitui wrote the book The Family Instruction of Master Yan in the later period combined with his life experience,and established the economic ethics thought based on agriculture,frugality and pursuit of study.These economic ethics thoughts reflect Yan Zhitui’s active exploration on how to make one’s career and family prosper in the chaos with wisdom and survival skills.His economic ethics thought is the way of survival and lessons learned in the era of constant war,frequent regime change,and impossible loyalty.
