主观幸福感与居民创业

The Effect of Residents' Subjective Happiness on the Entrepreneurship

创业活动对经济转型与结构优化具有至关重要的作用。现有文献多关注客观因素对居民创业的影响,但关于主观因素如何影响居民创业却较少考察。本文使用3期CGSS调查数据,评估了居民主观幸福感这一主观因素对其创业决策的影响,并初步检验了可能的影响机制。研究发现:(1)幸福感显著地提高了居民创业概率,平均而言,主观幸福感每增加一个标准差(0.803),居民创业概率大约上升0.875个百分点;(2)幸福感对"自我雇用"型和"自己是老板"型创业都有显著促进作用;(3)幸福感虽然显著增加了居民社会资本,却降低了居民风险偏好,这表明增加社会资本是幸福感提高居民创业概率的重要机制。本文发现意味着,中国政府提升居民幸福感的施政努力将为中国经济转型升级提供内生动力。

The entrepreneurial activities play crucial role in economic transformation and economic struc-ture optimization.Existing studies focused on the effect of objective factors on residents'entrepreneurial activi-ties,but neglected the subjective factors5 effect.Using the latest three periods CGSS data as the sample,this paper studies the effect of subjective happiness on individuals’entrepreneurial activities,and tests the possible mechanism.The results show that:(1)Happiness improves individuals’probability of being entrepreneurs.On average,it will increase by 0.875 percent while the happiness increases by one standard deviation(0.803).(2)Happiness has significantly positive effect on both“self-employed”and“own-boss”entrepre-neurial activities.(3)Happiness significantly increases individual’s social capital and reduces individuals’risk preference,which mean that increasing social capital is an important channel that happiness improves individuals’probability of being entrepreneurs.This paper suggests that,Chinese government's effort to en-hance people's happiness provides the endogenous driving force of Chinese economic transformation and upgra-ding.
