Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of scraping mainly on three shoulder belts plus celecoxib capsules and continuous passive movements in treating scapulohumeral periarthritis and its effect on pain severity and functional activity in the patients.Method Ninety-six patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis were randomized to observation and control groups,48 cases each. The control group took celecoxib capsules and made continuous passive movements and the observation group received scraping mainly on three shoulder belts in addition. The Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)score and the Constant–Murley Score(CMS)score were recorded in the two groups before and after treatment. The clinical therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups.Result The total efficacy rate was 95.8%in the observation group, higher than 81.3%in the control group(P<0.05).The VAS score decreased and the CMS score increased in both groups of patients after treatment compared with before(P<0.05).Post-treatment VAS score and CMS score were more significant in the observation group than in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Scraping mainly on three shoulder belts plus celecoxib capsules and continuous passive movements has a marked therapeutic effect on scapulohumeral periarthritis. It can relieve the pain and improve the functional activity of the shoulder in the patients.
