Development of“Pure Literature”Among Chinese Writers in 1980s——An Investigation Centering on Exploring Modern Novel Skills

1980年代中国作家对"纯文学"的探索由写法开始,文学观的更新始于技巧观的更新。高行健的《现代小说技巧初探》对现代主义艺术技巧进行了较为全面的介绍,具有现代小说技巧和现代文学观念双重启蒙的价值和意义。冯骥才、刘心武、李陀围绕《初探》展开的"风筝通信"讨论则进一步使文学形式创新的意义突显。新时期初期的中国作家在形式、技巧层面寻求文学的现代之路,表明当时中国文学的现代转型是对一种技术现代主义的追求。文学和社会总体转型同步的情况表明中国文学之"纯"的背后是作家的社会介入和社会关怀。

In 1980s,Chinese writers began to explore“pure literature”in aspect of writing style and renewed their literature view in respect of writing techniques.In his book Ex^ploTing Modern No^vel Skills,Gao Xing^^ian gave a comparably comprehensive introduction to modern artistic skills,which is of significance to popularizing modern novel techniques and literary concept.A discussion on this book by way of“kite communication”among Feng Jicai,Liu Xinwu and Li Tuo,further highlighted the significance of innovation of literary form.Chinese writers’attempt in the new age to seek the modernization of literature in terms of form and skill indicates that the modern transforma-tion of Chinese literature at that time was a pursuit of a modernism in terms of skill.Synchronized transformation of literature and the society as a whole demonstrates that behind the purification of Chinese literature are the social in-tervention and concern of the writers.
