高中生英语学习动机类型及其影响因素

English Learning Motivation Types of Senior High Students and Its Influencing Factors

本文通过对3105名高中生的问卷调查和对6名高中生的半结构式访谈,探究了高中生英语学习动机的类型及其影响因素。研究发现,高中生英语学习动机主要包括个人发展动机、人际交流动机和外部要求动机;三种动机中人际交流动机最弱;高考是他们英语学习的主要动机;学习动机呈现随年级增加逐渐减退的现象。研究还表明,学生的英语成绩、家庭经济条件以及英语学习兴趣、教师的教学能力和教学方法等因素也会影响他们英语学习动机的类型。根据研究结果,本文为高中英语学习、英语教学和高考英语提供了启示和建议。

This study attempts to explore English learning motivations of senior high students and its influencing factors by conducting a questionnaire survey of 3105 senior high students as well as a semi-structural interview with 6 senior high students.The research results show that English learning motivations of senior high students primarily involve development,communication and external demands.Among them,communication motivation is the weakest,National Matriculation English Test(NMET)becomes students’primary English learning motivation,and English learning motivation fades as the grade increases.The results also indicate that some factors such as students’English levels,their families’financial conditions,their interest in learning English and teachers’teaching capabilities and methods will affect students’motivation types.Based on the results,some implications and suggestions are proposed to improve senior high school English learning,teaching and NMET.
