A Discussion of the Meaning and Characteristics of China's Borderland Studies

文章旨在探讨中国边疆研究的自身特点,从历史角度、认识角度,理论层面、实践层面考察中国边疆研究的自身之异,以便明确中国边疆研究的原则、方法和目的。认为中国边疆研究应该学习借鉴国外包括西方和非西方国家的边疆研究理论、方法和优秀成果,但目的是为了深化中国边疆研究理论,提升自身话语能力,而不是削足适履,做出脱离中国边疆实际的判断或者采取套用式的解读。

This article aims to discuss the characteristics of China's borderland studies from perspectives of history,knowledge,theory and practice,to clarify the principle,method,and purpose of China's borderland studies.Though China's borderland studies should borrow theories,methods and excellent findings from the foreign academy,including west and non-west countries,but the purpose of doing this is to deepen the theory of China's borderland studies,to improve our own discourse ability,not to apply these to China's borderland studies,not to make some judgement divorced from reality or some interpretation by mechanical application.
