The rise of regional monetary blocs has become a significant geopolitical economic phenomenon.The formation and development of the regional monetary blocs are not only the result of competitions among currencies in the context of globalization,but also influenced by geopolitical and economic motivation.Influences of regional monetary blocs on geopolitics are reflected in three aspects:The first is related to currency competitions and currency issuers,the second is related to the stability of regional monetary system,and the third is related to regional political identity.With regard to existing regional monetary blocs:at the international level,the expansion of American dollar strengthened geopolitical influence of the United States around the world;at the regional level,in the Euro,Central and West Africa Franc,Eastern Caribbean and East Asia,regional monetary cooperation promoted the integration of geopolitics,increasing regional stability.At either the international or the regional level,the formation of regional monetary blocs is reshaping the structure of global geopolitics.
