A correct understanding and handling the relationship between social rights and economic development has always been a major theoretical and practical problem facing the international community.The development miracle of China's reform and opening-up for 40 years has provided a kind of Chinese wisdom for solving this world problem.China adheres to the interdependence and synchronous adaptation of social rights and economic development in accordance with the principles of the relations between the economic basis and the superstructure as well as the law of unity of opposites.The successful and practical experience is as follows:economic development is the most important task and the basic approach to providing the material basis for the guarantee of social rights,while social rights are the ultimate aim and strategic means to promote the economic development.It is a must to make the social rights and economic development adapt to each other simultaneously.However,the relationship between social rights and economic development is facing new challenges due to the mutual restriction between the two and the arrival of the new normal and new era.The harmonious development of social rights and economic development requires the former to actively lead the latter while institutionalizing the protection indicators of social rights.
