This paper expounds the development of multimedia courseware at the present stage,and analyses the characteristics of the students'learning in the information age and the changes in the way of learning.The concept of programming multimedia courseware is put forward.Three characteristics of programming multimedia courseware are summarized.The details of programming multimedia courseware and the strategy of programming multimedia courseware are discussed.This paper studies the development trend of Web-based courseware,and finds out that"small and micro"is the inevitable trend of the development of Web-based courseware,indicating the future development of multimedia courseware.
