Word-formation,Lexical Structure and Lexical Features of Sherpa in China

本文对我国西藏自治区聂拉木县樟木镇一带的夏尔巴话词汇进行描写,认为夏尔巴话构词分为复合、紧缩、附加和重叠法。本文将其特点与拉萨话词汇进行对比后,发现夏尔巴话词汇系统借词多源,有一部分特色词。上述特点支持其为藏语方言的一个土语。

This paper provides a description of the lexical system of Sherpa,a Tibetan variety as spoken in the vicinity of Zhangmu Township in Nielamu County,the Tibet Autonomous Region in China.Word formation in Sherpa consists of compounding,blending,affixation and reduplication.It delves into the lexical system of Sherpa,and attempts to reveal the lexical features of this Tibetan variety through a comparison with the lexical items of the Lhasa dialect of Tibetan.Sherpa enjoys loanwords from multiple languages and a group of unique lexical items.This study supports the view that Sherpa is a local variety of the Tibetan language.
