On Qionglin banquet in Song Dynasty

"琼林宴"是宋代朝廷宴请新科士子或朝廷重臣的宴会,它是在唐代"曲江宴"基础上发展起来的一种最高规格的宴会形式,代表着无上的荣宠与恩典,特别是在以文教立国的时代背景下,更是有着非常深刻的文化意味。以宋代文化背景为依托,考察琼林宴的渊源因革、形制规模与文化价值,希望能够从中窥见宋代饮食文化之一斑。

“Qionglin banquet”was a feast of the highest grade held by the imperial court to entertain new scholars or important officials in the Song Dynasty derived fr om“Qujiang banquet”in the Tang Dynasty demonstrating supreme glory and grace,which was of more cultural significance in Song Dynasty.It was aimed at looking into the food culture in the Song Dynasty by studying the origin,vicissitude,scale,and cultural value of the Qionglin banquet.
