The Beauty of Sensation: Sensory Writing of The Legs by Tan Chee Hon

陈志鸿的《腿》表面上是在讲述同性爱、恋童、异族的三层冲突,但第一层的解读最多。其实还有第四层解读,即感官的描写所延伸的无限想象。本文尝试解读陈氏的感官美学意蕴,由一双腿为引子,从触觉、嗅觉、听觉与视觉方面来分析其感官刺激与欲望叙事。

On the surface,The Legs,by Tan Chee Hon seems a story of three levels of conflict involving sexual love,pedophilia and ethnic minorities but most interpret it at the first level.It goes without saying that there ought to be a fourth level of unlimited imagination extended in the description of sensory organs.This paper is an attempt to interpret the significance of Tan’s sensory aesthetics,with the legs as a primer for an analysis of the sensory stimulation and narrative of desire from the angles of tactile,olfactory,hearing and visual sensations.
