中国科学社的科技史研究

A Study on the Contributions of the Science Society of China to the History of Science and Technology

作为近代中国影响最为广泛的科学社团,中国科学社在创造历史的同时,也努力推进科技史研究。除《科学》杂志开设"历史传记"、"二十年来之科学"、"三十年来之中国科学"等专栏及在此基础上形成的《科学名人传》、《中国科学二十年》外,中国科学社还编辑出版了"中国科学史料丛书"、"科学史料译丛"等图书,促成了一批科技史家的成长。这些研究成果大多由各学科专家所撰,具有"内史"属性,当然也不乏"外史"探讨,不同时代的成果还反映了不同历史发展阶段的社会现实,是研究中国近代科学技术发展史的资料宝库,值得研究者们进一步整理与利用。

As the most influential scientific society in modern China,the Science Society of China made great efforts to promote the study of the history of science and technology.It edited and published books such as‘Historical Materials of Chinese Science Series’,‘A Collection of Translated Historical Materials of Science’,etc.,alongside‘Science magazine,which established columns such as‘Historical Biography’,‘Twenty Years of Science’,‘Thirty Years of Science’,etc.Based on these columns,‘Biographies of Scientific Figures and‘Twenty Years of Science in China were collated and published.These achievements contributed to the growth of the number of historians specialized in the history of science and technology.Most of the studies were works by experts of various disciplines that can be characterized as“internal history”,though a few were“external history”.The Society s achievements at different times also reflected the social realities at different historical stages of development.Therefore,rich materials are a treasure house for the study of the history of modern science and technology in China that deserve further research and use by researchers.
