Resources Misallocation and Structural Changes of Manufacturing Industry

文章基于Hsieh&Klenow(2009)和Oberfield(2011)的研究框架,着重分析资源错配影响中国制造业结构变迁的作用机制,并利用2000-2016年中国省际层面的宏观数据,测度了各地区制造业行业的资源错配程度,实证检验了资源错配对全国及各地区制造业结构变迁的影响。研究发现:资源错配在总体上抑制了制造业的结构优化,在不同地区间表现出差异性。因此,政府应进一步完善要素市场,促进要素自由流动,改善资源错配,同时根据各地区具体情况,因地制宜地改善资源错配。

Based on the research framework of Hsieh&Klenow(2009)and Oberfield(2011),this paper particularly analyzes the impact mechanism of resources misallocation on the structural changes of Chinese manufacturing industry.By using the macro-data at provincial level in China from 2000 to 2016,the degree of resources misallocation in various manufacturing industries is measured in various regions.The paper empirically tests the influence of resources misallocation on the structural changes of manufacturing industry in the whole country and regions.The study shows that resources misallocation has suppressed the structural optimization of manufacturing industry in general,and also presents the differences between different regions.Therefore,the government should further improve the factor market,promote the free flow of factors and improve the resources misallocation.Moreover,the resources misallocation should be improved according to the local conditions and the specific conditions of various regions.
