Compound Rhetoric in Shakespeare's Plays and Its Chinese Translation

莎士比亚戏剧是一座语言宝库,多辞格的综合运用使得莎剧的人物描写和情节叙述精道入微。取剧中排比为着眼点,可探知莎氏在创剧中采取排比与其他辞格综合运用的策略,从而揭示剧作者如何使用复合型修辞来塑造人物,推进情节;进而根据排比与其他辞格组合的不同关系,将此修辞手段分立为独立型、依赖型和重叠兼格型,以此讨论不同时期的译者如何在译文中重构这种复合修辞格的创造效果,从而证明排比复合修辞的汉译策略可归结为:移动辞格内修饰语位置、保留原复合辞格关系和更换辞格。

Shakespeare’s plays are a treasure trove of languages,among which the synthetical use of many rhetoric makes Shakespeare’s characters and plot wonderful.Taking parallelism as research object,this research explores the using strategies of compound parallelism and reveals how does the writer use this method to shape characters and advance the plot,then,according to the different relations of parallelism and other rhetoric,this figure of speech is divided into the following three kinds:the independent type,the dependent type and the type of overlap multiple rhetoric.Meanwhile,this paper discusses the reconstruction effect of compound rhetoric in the translation of different times’translators.At last,it is concluded that three strategies can be adopted in translating the compound parallelism:moving the position of the modifier,keeping the original relations and replacing another rhetoric.
