Interpretation of Zhang Ji s Poem about Abhisheca Altar of Fatai Temple in Shan County

唐人張繼《剡縣法臺寺灌頂壇詩》是密教文學史上教外作家所撰第一首較完整地展示三密特點的灌頂詩。若從詩題“灌頂壇”和詩歌本文所涉燈、幡、壇、印等意象分析,該詩叙述的當是密教化藥師壇場的宗教景觀。

Written by Zhang Ji who was one of the secular poets in the Tang Dynasty,The Poem about Abhisheca Altar of Fatai Temple in Shan County,was the first abhisheca song that completely conveyed Triniguhyani in the Esoteric Buddhism literature.By analyzing“Abhisheca Altar”in the title,and poetic imageries of Light(dipa),Streamer(patākā),altar(ma nd ala)and fingerprint(mudrā),this article affirms that this poem was describing a religious landscape about the Pharmacist Buddha(Bhaisajyaguru).
