The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Natural Resources have recentlyissued the second batch of rare earth mining & production quotas to the six rare earth groups (45,000 tons ofrare earth smelting and separation products and 46,500 tons of mineral products). According to the notice,the government strictly controls overall amount of rare earth mining, smelting and separation products. Thetotal amount of rare earth mining, smelting and separation control plans for 2018 are 120,000 tons and 115,000 tons, respectively.
