Objective To explore the effect of comprehensive nursing intervention of promoting sputum excretion on elderly patients with pulmonary infection. Methods To compare the antipyretic time and hospitalization time, the oxygen saturation and white blood cell count before and after intervention,120 cases of elderly patients with pulmonary infection, who treated in our hospital from January 2015 to December 2017,were observed, and randomly divided into control group and study group with equal members. The control group adopted the routine nursing, while the study group adopted the nursing intervention of promoting sputum excretion on the basis of the control group. Results Before the nursing intervention, the difference in blood oxygen saturation and white blood cell count between the two groups was not statistically mattered(P>0.05).After the nursing intervention, the blood oxygen saturation in the study group was apparently higher than that in the control group, the white blood cell count was greatly lower than the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The antipyretic time and hospitalization time of the study group were greatly shorter than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The application of the nursing intervention of promoting sputum excretion on elderly patients with pulmonary infection could effectively help sputum excretion of patients to control infection, which resulting in better therapeutic effect and shortening hospitalization time.
