Objective To analyze the preventive effect of Six Sigma management on hypothermia and chills in patients undergoing general anesthesia. Methods To compared the body temperature((tympanic membrane temperature)at each designed time point, time of the chill regression of the whole body, and length of hospitalization, recorded the incidence of hypothermia and chills, and compared the satisfaction with nursing,332 cases of patients underwent general anesthesia in our hospital from October 2016 to November 2017 were observed, and randomly divided into control group with 164 cases and study group with 168 cases. The control group adopted the routine nursing, while the study group adopted the Six Sigma management. Results The anus temperature at each designed time point of the study group was higher than that of the control group. The time of chill regression of the whole body in the study group was shorter than that in the control group, the length of hospitalization was shorter than the control group(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant. The incidence of hypothermia and chills in the study group were lower than the control group. The satisfaction with nursing of the study group was higher than that of the control group. Conclusion The application of Six Sigma management could effectively keep the hypothermia of patients underwent general anesthesia in control, relieve the postoperative chills for the patients, and reduce the incidence of postoperative hypothermia or even the chills.
