《戏曲丛谭》是中国早期戏剧史论著,在当今的中国戏剧史研究中仍具有其学术价值,有关参军戏的讨论即为著例。华锺彦先生对参军戏的研究立足戏曲本体,并在此和相关内容的基础上提出"有唐一代,为中国戏曲变迁之重要关键"。近年在日本发现的《盘涉参军》证明了这一结论的前瞻性。《戏曲丛谭》的相关研究方法对参军戏甚至整个唐代戏剧史研究都具有重要意义。

XiQu CongTan is one of the early works on the history of Chinese drama,with its academic value till now.The discussion about Join-the-army drama is an excellent example.HUA Zhongyan's study on Join-the-army drama is based on the opera itself,and he proposed that the Tang Dynasty is the key to the changes of Chinese opera.In recent years,the Panshe Canjun found in Japan has proved this conclusion.The relevant research method of XiQu CongTan has great significance on the study of Join-the-army drama,and even the whole drama history of Tang Dynasty.This shows well the value of this book.
