大学英语教学要适应社会发展的需求,随着大学新生英语水平的提高,我国独有的大学英语课程必将向学术英语过渡,在未来的一段时间将处于通用英语和学术英语相结合的状态,最后实现大学英语向学术英语的完全转变。本文从大学英语教学的现状和宗旨分析了这一发展趋势的必然性,以促进大学英语教学的改革。

To meet the demands of social development,the course of college English will have to be transformed into academic English as freshmen's English is improved.This means that general English course and academic English course may coexist for some time before the complete change.To stimulate the teaching reform of the course,the paper elaborated the necessity of the developmental trend through an analysis of current status and teaching goals of the teaching of college English.
